CAN-bus Controls for Off-Highway Vehicles
Visit Grayhill at Intermat in hall 5a, stand H 019
Intermat is Europe's largest exhibition for the construction industry in 2012, being held April 16 - 21 at Paris Nord Villepinte.
Grayhill is an ISO 9001:2008 certified designer and manufacturer of off-highway vehicle controls. They specialize in creating custom user interface devices that communicate via CAN-bus to control on-board systems. A standard range of keypads, joystick/encoders and displays are offered as base products ready for quick and cost-effective customization.

Starting with custom design services, Grayhill takes a proactive approach to help identify job specs. Engineers at Grayhill look beyond basic functionality to improve operator efficiency and ergonomics. This approach yields more intuitive controls that reduce operator fatigue and increase productivity. They optimize product design to simplify installation into the vehicle cab which reduces the OEM's assembly time. Further, these custom products are programmed for easy integration with the vehicle's on-board control unit. Examples of custom developed products include arm-rest mounted controls for hitches, and cabin comfort/information systems.

Many applications require only moderate customization of standard product types. For example, Grayhill Series 3K Keypads have been modified with custom legends and various key configurations to control systems as disparate as headlights and implements. Series 3D is a range of displays with embedded computers capable of running many applications simultaneously, such as video systems or virtual gauges. Series 3J is an arm-rest mounted rotary encoder with integrated joystick and pushbuttons for intuitive control of on-screen software.
As your experts in cab controls, Grayhill understands the requirements for rugged and sealed components in off-highway vehicles. Their standard products and custom designs have been proven in demanding applications for many agriculture and construction vehicle manufacturers.

Recently, Grayhill was interviewed for an article in Off-Highway Engineering magazine - a focused publication produced by the Society of Automotive Engineers. The article, titled Looking to the Future is available here as a PDF.
