Optical Encoders

Grayhill specializes in human interface optical encoders that provide excellent tactile feedback to the user. The greatest advantage of optical encoders is their non-contact switching technology which results in an exceptionally high operational life.

Although the end-product may vary, typical applications measure discrete digital position or rotational angle. Output options include absolute or quadrature 2-bit binary code.

Custom shaft and threaded bushing sizes are available. To increase the functions in one control, Grayhill offers optical encoders with concentric shafts, joysticks and pushbuttons integrated into compact devices.
